I don’t want to talk about last week. My lock missed for the first time all season and I was 1-2 in my on-air picks. Let’s move on to a new, happy week!
Programming note, I am out of town this weekend, so I won’t be on the show this week. I’ve submitted these locks for them to make fun of and roast, but you can see them below.

Week 6 Picks
Boston College (+6.5) at Louisville – Juwan Pass is still uncertain and I am not sold on Malik Cunningham. I liked him in high school, but he hasn’t translated well to college like I thought he would. The Cardinals are 2-2 on the season but 3-1 ATS, with that one loss coming to FSU. Boston College are one of the few teams to have already played 5 games coming in to this week and they are 3-2 straight up and ATS.
Not only do I think BC covers, I think they win outright. Also, I expect the under to hit here as well. As of this posting it sits at 61.
Result – Louisville 41-39 (-2). Almost got the outright win but the cover was easy.
Western Michigan at Toledo (-1.5) – Toledo was at -3 but people are jumping on Western Michigan to get it as low as -1 some places for the Rockets. I’m buying in on Toledo with the low line at home. Both teams only have one win against the spread but Toledo has looked good despite the lack of covers:
– They showed some good fight against a healthy Kentucky team to start the season (didn’t cover by 3.5 points)
– They won but didn’t cover against Colorado State on the road (didn’t cover by 1 point)
– Won straight up at +2.5 against BYU.
Give me the Rockets.
Result – Toledo 31-24 (-7). Go Rockets!
Memphis (-14) at Louisiana-Monroe – Good teams win, great teams cover and Memphis is doing a good job of both of those things so far this season as they are 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in their FBS games ATS. Louisiana-Monroe is probably getting too much credit for their near-win against Florida State as that is their only FBS cover on the season.
They both played South Alabama with Memphis winning by 36 on the road while ULM won by 13 at home last week. They failed to cover against both South Alabama and at Iowa State where they lost by 52.
Result – Memphis 52-33 (-19). Memphis could very well be your AAC champ, we’ll see what SMU has for them in a few weeks.
Lock of the week
Georgia (-24.5) at Tennessee
Tennessee is bad. Like really bad. Georgia was my pick out of the SEC this year to make the playoff, and while I am less sure of that now – it’s because of the SEC West being so strong with Alabama, Auburn and LSU all looking like top contenders. The East is still a joke and if Florida loses this week to Auburn and Georgia covers against Tennessee, then it will be over before it starts for the East and Georgia will be representing in the title game.
Result – Georgia 43-14 (-29). A slow start, but never in doubt against a bad Tennessee team.
Auburn (-2.5) at Florida
If I’m saying the East goes down in flames, then this will be part of the equation. We’ll see what happens.
Result – Florida 24-13 (+11). Why did I have to pick an extra game? I could have been perfect… Also, I’m done with Auburn.
