High School Predictions – Week 4

A pretty solid week last week, where I only missed a few games, and they were a bit surprising.

Hewitt-Trussville is probably the most surprising, and Josh Floyd is not off to a great start with the Huskies. Especially since he is the highest paid coach in the state.

Vestavia is not looking like a real strong contender now after their close game against Homewood and their loss to Oak Mountain. Buddy will get his 310th win this season, but I see a retirement coming after this year when they might struggle to make the playoffs. Starting 0-1 in the region to Oak Mountain isn’t a good way to kick things off.

And I picked John Carroll over Walker for whatever reason. Poor John Carroll is probably the worst team in 6A. It will be close between them and Jackson Olin.

Week 1: 1-4
Week 2: 7-4
Week 3: 8-3

Total: 16-11

On to week four, and the second week of region play. Some good match-ups this week in Birmingham, starting with a game that is close to me, and made for some of the greatest games I ever played in – Homewood vs. Briarwood.

Briarwood at Homewood
Vestavia Hills at Hewitt-Trussville
Oak Mountain at Hoover
Spain Park at Tuscaloosa County
John Carroll at Hueytown
