The final 56 teams in the seven classifications of boys and girls basketball in the AHSAA are set to meet at Legacy Arena in Birmingham beginning on February 25 and running through March 2.

Multiple reigning state champions will be the BJCC once again. Mountain Brook highlights the boys field with the Spartans led by coveted recruit Trendon Watford. Also returning are the Plainview Bears in Class 3A after a buzzer-beating win over Hillcrest-Evergreen last year. Sacred Heart will also play in Class 2A after winning the 1A title each of the last four seasons.

For the girls, Hazel Green makes another appearance in the Class 6A Final Four. Madison Academy will compete for the Class 5A title after winning 4A last year while last year’s 5A champion Charles Henderson was eliminated by 2018 6A runner-up Ramsay. Pisgah will also go for back-to-back crowns as they highlight Class 3A.
